Supporting Communities: Our Charity Partners & Social Impact

Over the past 12 months, Strettons has donated over £6,500 to charitable causes, with our people raising even more through their own fundraising efforts. These contributions are part of our wider purpose: to make a positive and lasting impact in the communities where we live and work. Whether through company initiatives or individual action, we're proud of the difference we make together.

Our Commitment to Community and Causes

Supporting Our Community at Christmas

In December, our team had the pleasure of supporting the Salvation Army in East London by delivering toys and gifts for children who might not otherwise have received anything at Christmas. Thanks to the generosity of our people, clients, and professional contacts, we were able to donate a significant number of presents that helped make Christmas Day a little brighter for many local families.

Remembering Holocaust Memorial Day

On Holocaust Memorial Day, we were honoured to host Dov Forman, great-grandchild of Holocaust survivor Lily Ebert. Together with Lily, Dov co-authored Lily’s Promise: How I Survived Auschwitz and Found the Strength to Live. He spoke to us about Lily’s remarkable story and the vital importance of Holocaust education today.

Walking For The Alzheimer’s Society

In April, a team of 13 from Strettons took part in the 10k Easter Ultra Challenge — a scenic route through Windsor and along the Thames Path, forming part of a wider fundraising event held over the Easter weekend. Thanks to the generous support of colleagues, clients and friends, we raised £2,690 for the Alzheimer’s Society, an important cause making a real difference to those affected by dementia.

Raising Awareness Through Movember

Each year, members of the Strettons team take part in Movember, growing moustaches throughout the month to raise awareness and funds for men’s health. The campaign highlights important issues including mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer — all key areas of focus for Movember.

Committing to the Armed Forces Community

Strettons is a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, joining a nationwide pledge to honour and recognise those who have served, are serving, and their families. This commitment reflects our ongoing involvement in initiatives that promote employment opportunities for veterans, support military families, and engage with the wider Armed Forces community.

Celebrating Women And Striving For Change

In March, we came together to celebrate the remarkable women who contribute so much to our workplace. Through a series of events and conversations, we recognised their dedication, achievements and the positive impact they have on our business every day. While acknowledging the progress made, we also recognise that more needs to be done. The day was about creating meaningful actions, not just talk, as we reaffirm our commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all.

Making An Impact Together And Individually

At Strettons, our people come together regularly to support charitable causes through collective initiatives. Equally important, we encourage individual efforts that create meaningful impact. For example, Holly Barr recently ran the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April, raising over £600 for Cancer Research — a charity close to both our company and our people. It’s this combination of teamwork and personal commitment that helps us make a real difference.

Turning Up for Charities We Care About

This September, we once again took part in Wickers’ ‘It’s a Knock‑Out’ day. Over 100 enthusiastic participants from across the borough descended on East Ham Rugby Club for a day of inflatable obstacle‑course fun, teamwork and community spirit. Thanks to the collective efforts of local organisations, we helped raise over £12,000—funds that will support mentoring, employability and youth development projects in East London.
