Philip joined Strettons in 1987, during which time has had several roles, including:
- Landlord & Tenant advisory on a variety of commercial properties.
- Advising lenders and insolvency practitioners on various loan issues (first receivership appointment in the mid-1990’s).
- Loan security valuations.
- Valuations and disposals of a variety of religious, community and other unusual properties for various third sector clients.
- Development appraisals for social housing providers and developers.
- Commercial and residential agency, acting for private and public sector clients.
- Masterplanning and planning related advice to regeneration agencies.
- Director of Strettons auction department, acting for private/public sector clients, receivers, insolvency practitioners and lenders.
- Has contributed several articles to the property press and was joint editor of the RICS Auction Guidance Notes.

- Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
- Registered Valuer
- Previous board member of RICS Real Estate Auction Group
- Past Chairman of RICS Junior Branch
- Member of the Committee Club and Hermes Club
- Anglo-Danish Society Council member
